Recognition vs. revalidation

Recognition: confirms academic value (further study, non-regulated professions). Revalidation: academic and professional recognition, essential for regulated professions. Outcomes: denial, conditional revalidation (complete courses) or full.

How, cost and time (reference)

Online process at tramites.gub.uy. Documents: degree and transcript apostilled or legalized, translation if not Spanish/English/Portuguese. You can start with a foreign document, but a Uruguayan ID is required to finish. Cost ~$1,926; time ~1 to 5 months (reference).
